A little confusing

Google has bought blogger and it took me a while to log into this - it seems only one of my sites has come across to the google sign in....

But what I really want to say today is that overall I have found using wikis easier than blogs - so for the full story, information and links about PORT MACQUARIE LEARNSCOPE 2006 project go to our wiki at...

A flickr badge

I finally worked out how to put in a flickr badge - the script needs to be inserted into the template... trial and error - never give up!

students are setting up blogs

Getting the students to set up a blog - to create their profile and insert the url of the photo of themselves into their profile.
Each day they come into tafe they will create their own diary entry.
everyone asks what is the difference between a wiki and a blog - and what i think it is is this...

a wiki has separate pages
a wiki does not have a good layout like a blog seems to look more like a web page

Trial and error

We have used this blog to learn about BLOGGING.. and we can do the following.... but there is loads more to know I am sure.
Without an indepth knowledge or desire to go into the HTML which is what the average student that we teach this to in General Education we have achieved the following...

uploading a picture
Copying URL of picture and inserting into profile
navigating around the blocks at TAFE and trying out the following
Moodle - this is not a good option to store large files in as the user has to log into moodle
You Tube - again not an option as TAFE has a security block on this site
Blip TV - have had some success storing and viewing the file
Podomatic - again success as BlipTV
Resizing the movie file so that it is smaller and easier to upload
Changing templates
Setting up RSS feed
Posting a comment
Inviting members
and there is lots more we need to learn
